About VitalEDU ...

VitalEDU was established in 1987 to help organizations in developing their most important assets…their people, by providing quality-training programs from McGraw Hill Training Systems, a division of McGraw Hill Book Company. In 1989, Vital Learning bought McGraw Hill Training Systems and VitalEDU joined with Vital Learning to continue providing the same quality programs to the market. We offer supervisory, management and team building training programs that teach participatory management. Using current active video, behavior modeling, and a lot of good old common horse sense, we provide supervisors, managers, and leaders with ideas and techniques they can apply immediately in their day-to-day activities. We understand the unique, changing culture of today’s workforce and have modified our programs accordingly.

We provide the college with programs they can use with thier clients to help supervisors, managers, and leaders through participatory management techniques they learn how to build committed productive relationships between themselves and their workers. These relationships benefit the company through increased productivity, higher quality products/services, reduced worker turnover, and improved communication throughout all levels in the company.

These products help develop an environment where quality becomes a natural part of your product or service. Quality occurs in a committed workforce rather than a compliant workforce. One of the most effective ways of obtaining the worker’s commitment or maintaining the commitment to quality is to have supervisors, managers, and leaders using appropriate skills in communication and working relationships.

The program teaches these skills: maintaining self-esteem, separating facts from opinions, listening actively, encouraging participation, designing clear messages in the interest of the receiver, recognizing nonverbal clues, overcoming barriers to communication, documentation, positive discipline, handling complaints, dealing with conflict, coaching, assessing performance, and delegating.

Finally, the students demonstrate these skills in the workshop and allow participants practice time so they can build confidence and competence. This empowers them to apply these newly acquired skills to handle, rather than ignore, most situations the supervisors, managers, and leaders find themselves in everyday.

Dorman S. "Dodie" Conklin...

Dorman S. "Dodie" Conklin has worked with Fortune 10 companies and small privately owned operations throughout the Nation. Twenty plus years experience working in both the private and public sectors and facilitation of over 3,000 workshops has prepared him to relate to the diversity of the work environment in today's world. Keeping participants always in mind, he has developed and administered training programs in the area of supervision, management, team building, sales training, product development, orientation, and technical training. He is past president of Mississippi Chapter of American Society for Training and Development, and a member of many community organizations.

 

Lynette I. Conklin...

Lynette I. Conklin is the owner of VitalEDU and brings a rich history of working in State Government and private industry for over 35 years. With her formal education in Public Administration and having served in both support and supervisory roles she brings a unique perspective of how to successfully lead others. She is very active in her community and volunteer organizations and commited to help others be successful.
